BCCI keen to hold a mini-IPL in September

The BCCI seems to be keen to hold a mini India T20 league during the month in September. It is learnt that the tournament could well be played in a foreign country. It is a month of September when hardly any Test playing nation is in action. The only cause of worry for BCCI is that ICC too is planning to have an international T20 tournament during the same period. A source in the BCCI said that it is one way to attract Indians living abroad to the India T20 league and it is financially also viable if it is played in a huge market like USA. But everything rests with the broadcaster if that part is secured then mini India T20 league can certainly be happening this September. BCCI is contemplating this idea since last year when it scrapped the Champions League T20 but it wasn’t possible last year as it was involved in a crisis from within.
