Is this Australia's World cup?

A team which plays like champions, Tagged as the most successful team ever in both test Cricket and Oneday internationals.  Four Time world cup champions, six time Finalist. A team which set trends and the rest of the world admires and follows it. Yes we are talking none other than Co-Host of ICC World cup 2015 "Australia". Despite no being as powerful as they were once in their golden era 1996-2007, when they ruthlessly dominated world cricket and made it to all world cup finals winning three of them but they are still a very strong contender. Apart from the South Africa and New Zealand, Australia are another strong contender to win the cup.

Every team, Knows the kind of Danger Michel Clarke's team can possess for them. And with Vociferous home crowd behind them they will be hard to beat. Apart from it the wickets, Home conditions that will add to their advantage and they will have great chance to register their Fifth World cup Title. However it's not easy as it's seems as they have found out in 1992. When they entered as favorites in the tournament but couldn't bear the burden of expectations which proved too hot for them to handle and as a result were knocked in group stages failing even reach to the semifinals.  This time therefore they will be careful about it.

Assessing the team, David Warner and Aron Finch can be said as the said most destructive one day Internationals openers currently. They are the reason for Australia's consistent performance in past two years. With their attacking games they have taken the attack on the opposition most of the times from the middle order .Shane Watson might have not been able to do justice at test level but his game has changes with the change of the format. In one day internationals he has been like rock solid at 3. While if Michel Clarke speedy recovery signifies Australia will have strong no 4 and 5 . With Steven Smith coming of age as batsman and have taken the role of sides premier batsman it will be important for teams to get his wicket to put Australia under pressure. However the problem for them lies at no.6 , George Bailey has  proved that he has a smart and intelligent brain as captain but as player his contributions has diminished over the time. After the rocking start to his Odi career. In past 15 months he has averaged just 22 .His position might not be in danger currently but he needs to start contributing sooner than later . At no.7 lies Australia's Most dangerous player who had helped them win on numerous occasion in his short career  James Faulkner has emerged as a great finisher with bat and with ball he has provided vital breakthroughs proving to be important cog in Australia's plan to win the World cup at home . This is why His injury has been considered to be bigger setback for Australia than Michel Clarke such has been his importance in this team.

Coming to the bowling, there is no second thought that Australia has one of the best fast bowling attack in this world cup along with New Zealand and South Africa. This when they have left out world class Ryan Harris in bid to get him fit for Ashes.  In Mitchell Johnson and Mitchell Starc they have one of the most fearsome bowling attack in the world who can destroy the batsman both physically and mentally. While in Josh Hazelwood they have a young bowler who can help Australia win matches on his own. The army of All-rounders in Shane Watson, Mitchell Marsh, James Faulkner and Glenn Maxwell provide varied option to the captain they can win matches with bat and ball for the team. However the spin department is not healthy in absence of an attacking spinner as selectors preferred to have Xavier Doherty's containing ability rather than Nathan Lyon's attacking display.

Overall Australia is a team to watch out in this ICC World cup and they will like to amend the mistakes of 1992 and win this world cup in front of their home crowd next March.
